BANDUNG - Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Mizwar expressed his appreciation for the construction of a flyover, or overpass Antapani. This is a cooperation project between the Center for Roads and Bridges (Pusjatan) Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Government of Bandung, and Korea's Posco Steel.

"We expect the construction of a pilot project of flyover is running smoothly and successfully as planned, so it is useful to reduce the level of traffic congestion due to the intersection of a plot and the high volume of vehicles in the city of Bandung," he said at the ground breaking construction of Flyover Antapani by the Minister of Public Works and Housing, in Antapani intersection Kiaracondong Bandung, Friday (10/06/2016).

"Thus, it can be a positive impact on fuel savings, reduction of air pollution, an increase in the number and duration of tourist arrivals, increased productivity and happiness index citizens, and encouraging the growth of the service sector, tourism, trade, creative industries, and other strategic sectors, so that the turn leads to increased prosperity more evenly, "he added.

Of the total budget of Rp. 33.5 billion required for the construction, composition Rp. 21.5 billion comes from Pusjatan, Rp. 10 billion from the Government of Bandung, Rp. 2 billion of Posco Steel Korea in the form of material components.

The flyover Antapani own, built with corrugated steel structure combined with lightweight timbungan. This is one of the developed applicative design Balitbang Ministry PUPR.

Construction of Flyover Antapani is the first to use the technology corrugated steel structure built in Indonesia. This bridge has a bridge structure Corrugated or Armco, with the number of 3-span bridge span is 11 meters x 2 and 22 meters, 44 meters long bridge spans, bridge height of 5.1 meters, 9 meters wide bridge, Lane number two lane two-way, wide traffic of 6.50 m, shoulder width: 0.75 mx 2 = 1.5 m, with an estimated construction time for 6 months, and is expected to be launched or inaugurated in December this year.

Bridge construction is aimed to overcome congestion at the intersection plot Antapani, precisely in the way the canal Jakarta Jakarta which has been the source of congestion.

Minister of Public Works and Housing of the People (PUPR) Hadimuljono Basuki said the construction of the overpass with corrugated steel structure with a combination of foam mortar has a number of advantages. In addition, from the cost side is also more efficient about 60% - 70% when compared with the manufacture of a flyover with a reinforced concrete structure.

"We also expect the support of the Minister towards some strategic infrastructure programs, housing and residential areas, among others: Action Plan for Multiparty Movement Citarum Bestari; Drainage and Water Supply System of Metropolitan Bandung Raya; and continue TPPAS Regional Legok Nangka," said Deddy.
